Batten roll
A batten roll is a joint between two bays / panels / trays. It is formed with a square or trapezoidal timber batten core, with the sides of adjoining panels turned up the batten and capped with a metal strip. This is single-folded to interlock with the panel upstands. The square or trapezoidal-shaped timber must be a minimum of 40mm x 40mm and laid and fixed between adjoining panels. Abutting panels are folded into an upstand against each side of the batten roll with a cover strip welted to the upstands of the panels.
Expansion is allowed for within the trapezoidal shape of the batten roll or by leaving a gap of 3mm between the upstand and batten.
50mm wide clips are fixed at maximum 380mm centres under the batten roll, interlocking with the welted edges of the capping strip and upstands.
Different styles of batten roll can be used including British, German, Belgian and Capped Batten Roll.
